Family mentor Program

The Parenting Cottage maintains an outreach office in Lubbock’s 79404 zip code area located at the Chatman Clinic. Residents can access services including referrals for early prenatal care, parent coaching and a variety of community resources designed to assure a full term healthy pregnancy for both mother and child. The program compliments the Lubbock Area United Way Success by Six efforts.

The Family Mentor program utilizes the nationally recognized Parents as Teachers curriculum and certified educators to provide parent coaching essentials to young parents, teen parents or any family expecting.

After the baby is born, parents have the option of continuing their parent education coaching process through the Parents as Teachers personalized home visitation program. The Parents as Teachers (PAT) program is available to Lubbock County residents and through the Parenting Cottage’s Crosby County Outreach office.
